Why do I need to work with book blogs?
As newspapers continue to lose space for reviews, authors need have their books reviewed in new places. Combine this with more and more people are going online for information, and blogs become a hot place for book reviews. They are both the new review section and, with social media, the new word of mouth
Who is reading blog reviews anyway?
There are two main audiences for book blog reviews. First, are the people who subscribe to their favorite book blogs. Often these people cleave to book blogs whose reviews they have learned they can trust. A rave review from a trusted blogger can put a book on the top of a reader's 'to buy' list. In addition, book blogs are often a top result when people search the internet for information about specific books. Having your book on a blog that matches it well is advantageous, as searchers are more likely to find reviews by people who understand the genre and can do justice to your book in a review and more likely to receive comments on said review, showing searchers that people are interested in your book.
How does Booklicity choose which blogs to pitch?
We have an exclusive blog database which is regularly updated. We search this database to find the blogs that are a good fit. We then narrow the list to those blogs that are currently posting regularly and are well-written, paying special attention to individual details that make a blog a particularly good fit for a book.
